Amazon Au without Hg: Interactive system for ethical artisanal gold mining

We brought 500 artisanal miners in Peruvian Amazon into the design, development, training, and deployment process of one of the world’s first ethical mercury-free artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) supply chain tracking software, and challenge the power that software exerts over end workers, reorienting a system traditionally used to track and exploit into technology that helps them sustainably advocate for health and economic wellbeing.
